First League: Skokani Olomouc announced new signing
While Skokani Olomouc were in Extraliga for a long time, team currently in First League seems to be aiming the return as they announced five new signings for the upcoming season.
First one is no surprise to anyone who follows Czech baseball. Same as in the previous season Martin Schneider joins Skokani, although this year it should be on a permanent basis. We are yet to see how this affects Draci Brno.
Another player who joins Skokani from Draci, this time on loan, is experienced Přemek Chroust, who have played 14 seasons in Extraliga, amassing 374 games in the regular season with .316 BA and 17 HR. Furthermore, he’s still only 29 and has a lot to offer to Skokani.
Next signing with Extraliga experience is Marko Vykoukal who joins Olomouc on loan. Vykoukal has 240 IP in Extraliga’s regular season with 4.24 ERA. However, he only played one inning for Arrows in the previous season. He added 13 more in First League for Olomouc where he finished with 3.46 ERA.
Fishing in Brno waters, Skokani also got young pitcher Petr Charvát from Hroši, who played in U21 Extraliga in the previous season, throwing 28 innings with 7.39 ERA and 25 SO.
The latest of the signings is Jakub Voženílek who will attempt to restart his career in Olomouc. Player who was part of Eagles Praha youth teams played in U21 Extraliga in 2015, with .276 BA in 9 games.
Skokani are also sending Jakub Voják on loan to Arrows Ostrava.
