College Baseball: NGU with an excellent comeback against Mississippi
North Greenville University (NGU) with Marek Chlup in the lineup played two more games against Mississippi College on Saturday. After a dominant win on Friday, NGU had a much tougher time over the weekend.
At the beginning it even looked like a doubleheader will go rather badly for NGU as their batters were unable to find a way against Jackson Brodges and lost their first game 2-6. The second game didn’t go as planned either, when NGU got behind 1-7 after four innings. However, in the second half of the game their bats awoke and came back to win 9-8 in the extra inning.
Marek Chlup didn’t register a hit this time. In the second game he had an RBI with a sacrificial fly out, sending home the third run of his team. In the sixth inning, Mississippi defense made an error after his PA and thanks to that NGU lowered the deficit to one. After the three games, NGU has 2-1 record and will continue on Tuesday against Lander University.
