College Baseball: Padyšák played the first game of the season

Only two Czechs played college baseball games on Friday and Saturday. For the first time we could see pitcher Daniel Padyšák. Pitt Community’s, where Martin Zelenka plays, three game series was postponed due to covid cases in the opponent’s team.

Daniel Padyšák, playing for Charleston Southern (CSU), played in his first game of the season. He was tasked to throw the last out in the sixth inning against Ole Miss. At the time CSU was behind 1-11 and since his teammates didn’t add more runs in the following inning, the game finished early due to the mercy rule.

North Greenville played three games in two days against Erskine College, two of which went to NGU. Marek Chlup played in all three games, adding 5 hits to his stats, which improved his BA to .368 on the season.

Czechs in action:
Daniel Padyšák – 0.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 SO
Marek Chlup (1st game) – 4 AB, 1 R, 2 H, 0 RBI, 1 BB, 2 SO
