Eric Sogard in Czech jersey for the first time
A long-term Major League Baseball player Eric Sogard wore the Czech jersey for the first time. It wasn’t in a game yet, but rather while picking up his Czech passport.
The photos were published by Czech Baseball Association. “Pavel Chadim gained a great player to his team. Eric Sogard, Chicago Cubs player (Sogard is currently a free agent – redactor’s note), who plays in MLB for over 10 years, received Czech citizenship.” Experienced baseballer could strengthen Czech Republic on this year’s World Baseball Classic qualification, which will be played in September in Germany. In 11 years, Sogard played 815 games in MLB with BA .246.
