We can look forward to Czech Cup this year
Czech Baseball Cup (CBC) disappeared from the baseball calendars after 2019 season. This should all change and fans can look forward to the traditional baseball tournament in 2022.
Beside the return of the cup, the winner will also earn the spot in European cups, which should increase the attractiveness for the teams. CBC system also saw some changes, as last season’s Extraliga finalists will play in the quarterfinals as their first game. The remaining Extraliga teams will start from the first round. There will also be qualification rounds that will see teams from First League and regional leagues match against one another. Qualification rounds, unlike the other rounds, will be played for only one round where the winner of the game advances further right away.
CBC will prolong the season, which is a great news for the fans. Quarterfinals games will be played since 23rd of September, while finals are planned from 7th till 9th October. The finale itself might see some changes, however, as there will be only one game played if it is shown in the television. Otherwise it will be best of three.
Draci Brno, the most successful team in CBC history with 18 titles, will attempt to defend Czech Baseball Cup. Eagles Praha and Technika Brno also have three wins each.
