Czechs beat France 15-2 in a friendly game

For the third time in three days, Czechs faced France in Tenerife. After two tied games, the central European team won this one by a margin.

Pavel Chadim‘s team could rely on the dominant pitching of their starter Filip Čapka. Pitcher gave his team 5 innings, where he only allowed two hits and one run. The run came in the first inning, however, France were not celebrating for too long, as Czechs scored twice in the bottom of the inning.

Two innings later saw Czech bats explode with seven runs to increase the team’s lead to 9-2. It all started with 2 RBI double from Martin Červenka, followed by Marek Minařík whose homerun scored in another two runs. Opponent changed the pitcher, but the new one didn’t fare much better, as Czechs played 12 batters in the inning.

After the excellent performance from Filip Čapka, Czechs sent in the bullpen, with Viktor Večerka, David Mergans, Lukáš Ercoli and Jan Novák. None of them allowed French to take over the game. Furthermore, Czechs had another big inning in the bottom of the eight, where they added 6 runs. Three of them were thanks to a homerun from Jakub Grepl (3/4). The best batter of the day was, however, Matěj Menšík who had four hits and one walk.

Czechs will now play two more games against the hosts, reigning Spanish champions Tenerife Marlins.
