College Baseball: North Greenville only missing one win to the first place in the conference
The last week of the regular season for Marek Chlup and David Bauer brough important wins. Both teams are well on way to finish in the first place of their respective conference, or division.
North Greenville University played against Catawba on Tuesday. The duel didn’t start well for NGU, when Catawba scored 5 runs in the first inning. However, NGU managed to respond in the following half of the inning, after Chlup scored in the first of the four runs scored in the inning. He had even more reason to celebrate in the sixth inning, as J. Faille tied the score, for Marek Chlup‚s double to give his team the lead for the first time in the game. NGU managed to hold the lead and so they now only miss one win to 40 wins on the season. Furthermore, they also only miss one win to clinch the top spot in Conference Carolinas.
David Bauer also played on Tuesday, when Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs played Pembroke Pines Charter. In 12-3 Chiefs win Bauer added 3 hits and improved his BA to .457. He also stole 4 bases, rounding up his season total to 20.
