MiLB: Vojtěch Menšík will start the season in Single-A
The only Czech baseballer currently playing for a Major League Baseball organization, Vojtěch Menšík, now knows where he will start the current season. He convinced the coaches in the Spring Training and got his spot in Inland Empire 66ers roster.
Menšík joined ASL Angels after signing his professional contract in the previous season, however, he didn’t play any games at Rookie level. His first game in the minors will hence be a level higher, in Single-A. Inland Empire 66ers plays in California League, along with minors teams of Dodgers, Giants, or Padres. Besides that, Modesto Nuts, where Slovak Adam Macko played in the previous season also plays here.
Vojtěch Menšík is currently the only Czech player to play in MiLB. His first game for 66ers will be on Friday, when his team plays against Padres minors team Lake Elsinore Storm.
