EXL: Great televised game at Tempo. Matěj Menšík with 6 hits

Extraliga continued with 4 games on Sunday. And they complicated the things before the last batch of the game as there are four teams that can finish with 11-10 record.

Sokol Hluboká – Arrows Ostrava 7-3

Hluboká welcomed the current champions from Ostrava in their last game of the regular season. And home team wanted to finish with a win, despite not getting into TOP 6. That’s why they started with Alexander Palma on the mound. Visitors sent in Alexander Šín. And the pitching duel started better for the home pitcher as Šín allowed 4 runs in the first two innings, while Palma only allowed 2.

There were several interesting fielding changes for Arrows in the second half of the game. Ostrava sent in Jakub Kubica on the mound, who pitched in Extraliga for the first time since 2016. He then moved to the catcher position after an inning and Matěj Satoria finished the game. Home batters could rely on Vasil Zhupanin, who had 3 hits for 4 AB and got 3 runs. Hluboká thus finished the regular season with a win. Arrows still need to play two make up games against Tempo.

Tempo Praha – Draci Brno 4-5 (10 inn.)

The best game of the day turned out to be the one shown in the national television. Both teams decided to start with foreign pitchers, Ethan Skuija for the home Tempo and Gillian Wernet for Draci. Both of them showed why they were signed up and they didn’t let the batters do much. Bullpens then continued with the momentum with Juan Jaime and Anthony Fell. That’s why the score was at 2-2 after nine innings. Eugene Helder started the extra inning with a hit and Draci loaded the bases without an out. They then managed to score 3 runs and get an advantageous position before the bottom half of the inning. However, Tempo didn’t give up and after a hit from Matěj Pláteník and a wild pitch they got only one run from tying. Jaime showed his experience and handled the situation, giving Draci the win and seventh series win in the regular season.

Technika Brno – Hroši Brno 13-19

Properity Park Kraví Hora saw a wild game that offered 32 run, which amounted to the most in this season. There were three players with at least 4 hits. Matěj Menšík from Technika even hit 6 hits and based on iScore he only missed a homerun to the Cycle. This was the first time someone had this many hits during an Extraliga game in at least past 6 years. However, even that wasn’t enough for Technika. Both teams managed to score 13 altogether in the fifth inning, which is something one don’t get to see often.

Třebíč Nuclears – Eagles Praha 11-1 (8 inn.)

There was plenty of fan seen at Na Hvězde field when Nuclears hosted Eagles during the Army Day. Beside army show, the fans also saw the win of the home team. It all started thanks to Lukáš Pacal who started for Nuclears on the mound and he didn’t allow his opponents any hits in five innings pitched. His teammates were much more successful against David Wilson, as they scored 5 runs in 4 innings. Eagles then sent in their new foreigner in Andrew Grieder on the mound. American pitcher, however, didn’t have the best start into the Extraliga, as he allowed 6 runs and the game was wrapped up in the eighth inning on mercy rule. Eagles weren’t doing much better in the offense, as they only had one hit, thanks to Michal Antoň. This was also the last game of the regular season for Nuclears, who finished it with record 11-10. Eagles still have a game against Tempo to play.
