Tomáš Říčný commited to an university in Colorado
The list of Czech baseballers, improving their game overseas has another name to it. Tomáš Říčný, playing for Hroši Brno (and Pipas).
Říčný commited to Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado. Their baseball team played D1 in NJCAA.
„To play baseball in America was always my dream,“ said Říčný for the club social pages. „I am extremely happy and thankful to have an opportunity to fulfill this dream and to do so along with getting an education. I’d like to thank to Hroši and all the people who helped me on this journey. I wish all the luck to the young guys with the same and dream. And practice!“
Nineteen year old Tomáš Říčný has three seasons in Czech Extraliga to his name. His first game came in 2019 when he was sixteen. For now he played 17 games in the regular season, being .182/300/.273. He also threw 3.1 innings with ERA 16.36. In the previous season he played for Hroši U21 team, batting .396 in 16 games.
