Draci entered Champions Cup with a loss against Parma
Current Extraliga runner-up started Champions Cup on Tuesday morning. They faced defenders of the Cup from Parma in the game which resulted to their first loss.
Draci didn’t start badly, after Arnošt Dubový reached the base in the first inning to be send home by Pabel Manzanero. However, Parma responded quickly, scoring three runs. Parma then controlled the game, not allowing Draci anything. Czech team even had several innings where they were unable to get a hit.
Draci substituted starter Gillian Wernet for Maikel Aguiar after five innings, while they were 1-4 behind. New pitcher didn’t have a good game, however, allowing Parma 5 runs in 2 innings. Václav Tauš then stepped on the mound in the eight inning, but even he didn’t have a good game. He allowed two runs, which meant the game finished early.
Czech team didn’t have a good start to the tournament, losing 1-11. They will face another tough opponent at 10:30 on Wednesday when they duel L&D Amsterdam. Arrows Ostrava game had to be postponed due to inclement weather.
