North Greenville with Marek Chlup won NCAA Division II World Series
A great success for North Greenville and Marek Chlup as they won in the finale of NCAA Division II Championship also known as the World Series for the first time in their history.
Furthermore, NGU went through the tournament without a hiccup. After winning three games in a row, they faced #2 Point Loma in the finals, who had to play two games in the semifinals.
NGU started the finals better, after Jordan Holladay gave them the lead in the second inning. An inning later Marek Chlup scored in another run. Czech finished the game with a hit and 1 RBI. Point Loma tried to mount a comeback, but despite having more hits than NGU, it wasn’t enough. North Greenville won 5-3 and could celebrate the historical triumph. And Chlup was an important part of the lineup as he belonged to the core player of his team. The win in the World Series also puts a spotlight on NGU players before the upcoming MLB Draft.
