EC U12: Czechs beat Austria by a difference of class to start the championship
Czech national team played their first game at U12 European Championship, facing against the host from Austria. Their opponent didn’t cause them many problems and Czechs took their first win.
Austria was able to keep in touch with Czechs for only an inning. Jan Vik‚s hit gave Czechs the lead in the second inning. But it was the third inning where their bats exploded as Czechs scored 7 runs and built a substential lead. They continued on the same wave when they added 7 more runs in the fourth inning which ended the game prematurely.
Thanks to an early end, Czechs coaches go to save their pitchers, as duo Daniel Dobeš and Jan Vik only threw 51 pitchers together. They only allowed 3 hits, no runs, and striked out 7 batters.
Czech bats worked well, especially for Václav Novák, who got the third of all RBIs of his team.
The first game went excellently for the Czech national team. They can now get ready for the next one where they play France on Wednesday. France lost 5-12 in their first game against Germany.
