EXL: Draci beat Tempo to keep the first place

The second to last round of Extraliga TOP 6 started on Friday with three games. And all of them were close.

Two teams competing for the fourth spot that would get them into semifinals met in Eagles Park. In the end, it was the home team that came on top, as they won 3-2. Despite outhitting their opponent 9 to 3, Nuclears were unable to get the win. The winning run came from Martin Červenka in the bottom of the sixth inning.

YD Baseball Arena in Brno hosted Tempo, who had a chance to get Draci from the first place in TOP 6. Visiting pitchers only allowed 2 hits to Draci, but even that wasn’t enough. Unfortunately for them Ethan Skuija walked first two batters in the fifth inning, which Draci turned into two runs. These turned out to be important. Draci sent in Martin Schneider for Filip Čapka and experienced pitcher showed why he was picked to close the game. Draci took the eighth win from 10 games in TOP6.

An interesting game happened in Ostrava. First three runs came thanks to three solo homeruns. Especially the one from Jakub Malík was of a historical importance, as home veteran got his 100th HR and 600th RBI. Matěj Satoria kept Hroši on two runs until the fifth inning. In it, however, visitors scored 4 runs thanks to a homerun from Dan Ondroušek and 2 RBI single from Jan Pospíšil, who also had his first Extraliga homerun.

Visitors started with Lukáš Ercoli on the mound. He was substituted after three innings and John Hussey came in the game. He kept home batters scoreless until the eighth inning. Arrows made the game more dramatic when they scored 3 runs Furthermore, they started ninth inning with the top of the lineup. However, they were unable to bat against Hussey and Hroši got the win in the end.
