EXL: Hroši Brno another team to play in the semifinals
After Sunday TOP 6 games we know another team that got into semifinals. After winning against Arrows, Hroši will get a chance to play for the title for the first time in their history.
Those who watched duel between Tempo and Draci saw an exciting and tight game. The ninth inning started 5-4 for Tempo and where few knew we were yet to see 6 runs. Draci were able to get the lead and were only three outs from sweeping the series. However, home team then loaded the bases without an out and Keibert Petit then decreased Draci lead to 6-7 with a single. A moment later it was Aleš Nepomucký whose hit meant walk-off win for Tempo.
Even the 165th HR for Pavel Budský wasn’t enough to get Draci the win. Budský now improved his own Extraliga record. This was an important win for Tempo, who will play the series against Arrows where they need at least one win to get to the semifinals.

Hroši Brno needed to win in the third game against Arrows, to get a semifinal spot. They were able to do so after they beat Ostrava 6-2. Arrows were only able to keep up with their opponent for a half of the game, when they leveled the score at 2-2 in the fifth inning. However, Dan Ondroušek then scored a two run double and ensured Hroši win. Furthermore duo Tomáš Ondra and Kellen Croce didn’t allow any more runs to Arrows and Hroši got to celebrate their first appearance in semifinals.

The last game of the day was between Eagles Praha and Třebíč Nuclears. If you were to only look at the final score, you had to wonder if you were not looking at the wrong boxscore, as the third duel, same as the previous ones, finished 3-2 for the home team. Eagles could rely on their starter Andrew Grieder, who had his best game yet as he only allowed 5 hits and 2 runs (1 ER) in 9 innings. Futerhermore he also had 14 strikeouts.
Třebíči pitching duo Lukáš Smejkal and Tadeáš Kalčev was also having a good game as they kept the game tied at 2-2. However, Martin Červenka flashed his skills in the final inning and his solo homerun decided the game. Thanks to him Eagles took the fourth spot in TOP 6 and their future is in their own hands before Hroši series.
