EXL: Třebíč Nuclears finished in the 5th place. Arrows with a negative record
We only needed 2 games to determine who finished in the fifth place. In the end, it went to Nuclears, who can celebrate a historical achievement, all while playing against reigning champions from Ostrava.
Arrows started the series better, taking 2-0 lead after two innings. However, Nuclears had to see something in Alec Lemmon’s pitching as they scored 6 runs in 2 innings. Nuclears were leading 7-4 before the bottom of the ninth inning, however, Arrows were able to make the inning dramatic, when they scored 2 runs, and had a runner on the third base with two outs. Mathias Schwarzinger then battled with Ryan Johnson, but Nuclears pitcher came on top after 11 pitches. Nuclears thus took 7-6 win.
Ryan Johnson remained on the mound for the second game and in the end, he threw a complete game. He didn’t allow any runs earning a complete game shutout. Furthermore, he was also able to get 2 RBI and a HR. Nuclears won 3-0, taking the win in the series.
