EXL U21: Martin Pernička showed off with an unusual performance

Sunday U21 Extraliga game between Draci and Eagles saw an unusual performance from the home batter Martin Pernička.

Twenty one year old, who plays for Draci A team this year, came to play U21 Extraliga game over the weekend and he didn’t stay hidden for long. He was especially visible in the second game, where he had 4 hits from 4 AB. This would not be surprising on its own, but all of these were triples.

To have 4 triples in a single game is certainly a unique feat, which is yet to be seen in Major League Baseball. There are 29 players who had 3 triples in a game played for 9 innings. Pernička managed to get his triples even faster, as U21 Extraliga games are played for 7 innings. However, this game also saw an extra inning, as the score was tied at 5-5 after 7th inning. Eagles managed to take the game in the end, winning 9-6 in the 8th. Even the unique performance from Pernička wasn’t enough to get Draci the win.
