WC U12: Czechs lost to South Korea after a long game
The second game for Czech Republic and World Cup in Taiwan took almost 4 hours. In the end Czechs lost to South Koreans 0-14.
Unlike against Americans, Czechs kept up with their opponent until the second inning. Koreans pressed their opposition in the bottom half and scored 8 runs, building a substantial lead. The game had to be postponed in the third inning as rain came pouring down on stadium in Tainan.
When the game resumed, Koreans continued in their press adding 6 more runs, also thanks to homerun from Yechan Kim. Czechs got their first win in the fourth inning thanks to Lukáš Hanák. Furthermore, Jan Vik also showed off on the mound, as he only allowed 1 hits and no runs in two innings he pitched.
Since Czech were unable to score any runs, their second game also finished on mercy rule after 5 innings. Matouš Prochádzka’s team will now have a day off and will continue the tournament against Japan on Monday.
