EXL: Draci Brno are one win from the title
One of the team would get a huge advantage in the fifth game of Czech Series on Friday, as they would get a matchball. In the end, it’s Draci who enter the Friday game in a better position, as they beat their opponent 8-1.
Hroši started Tomáš Ondra for the second time in the series, despite not having a good first appearance. The things didn’t go much different this time either, as Draci scored 3 runs against him in the second inning. However, some of the blame can be shifted to Hroši defense who didn’t help their starter much. Hroši starter remained on the mound for 3 innings and was substituted with Draci in 3-0 lead.
Juan Jaime, on the other hand, added another series or neat pitches during the game as he threw 7 innings. He only allowed 3 hits and 1 run. The run came in the fourth inning as Petr Čech’s hit scored in Vojtěch Menšík.
Martin Červinka returned 3 run lead to Draci in the fifth innings thanks to his only sixth career homerun. A few moments later Pabel Manzanero hit triple and scored in Jakub Hajtmar for the fifth run. All of this came against Lukáš Hlouch who came in for Ondra. Hroši then sent Boris Večerka and Jakub Bílek on the mound, however, they too were unable to halt Draci bats. Home team finished the game winning 8-1.
Draci also substituted Jaime for Martin Schneider for the last two innings. He had a good day on the mound as he caused troubles to Hroši batters with his sliders. With the win, Draci took 3-2 lead in the series.
Czech Series continues on Friday at 17:00 at Hroši field.
