NoEXL: Parker Thode threw a no-hitter against Hluboká
While team that will play in the upcoming Extraliga season are already known, Promotion League games are still well worth the watch. One of such reasons in no-hitter from Technika Brno pitcher Parker Thode that came on Friday.
Brno starter was able to do so away as Technika beat Sokol 10-0 in seven innings. He had an excellent day, holding Perfect Game alive for four innings. However, he hit Kamil Miranda with a pitch in the fifth inning.
Based on the original scorekeeping, Thode was supposed to lose his no-hitter in the seventh inning after a hit from Matěj Dvořák. However, this was later changed to a defensive error and thus American pitcher became only the second player in past 11 years to throw a no-hitter for Technika. The first one was Roger Deago in 2011.
Parker Thode was signed by Technika as a foreign player, however, even he was unable to help the team to TOP 6, after he had ERA 5.36 in seven games in the regular season. His performance in Promotion League was much better, with 59 IP, 4 CG, 1.68 ERA and 99 SO.
