EXL: Martin Červenka to play for Tempo Praha according to MLB reporter

The new team for Martin Červenka was in the middle of many speculations in the past few weeks. One of the most commonly mentioned places was Tempo. MLB.com reporter Michael Clair brought the same information today.

Michael is currently in Czechia to shoot a documentary about the Czech national team for MLB, after they qualified to World Baseball Classic. He reveals fragments from the shooting on his Instagram. And one of them revealed Martin Červenka as a national and Tempo player. The story was shared with the official Czech Baseball Association account.

The rumors claimed (and we talked about it in Monday Ballcast with Jirka Vlach from baseball-stat.cz) that Červenka wanted to play one more season with his friend Marek Minařík. Afterwards, it is possible he won’t continue his baseball career as actively (but this is just a speculation). Nevertheless, Tempo would get a strong player in Červenka. “Barry” also knows the clubhouse, as it was the team where he played his first Extraliga game in 15 years old.

Tempo Praha is yet to win their first Extraliga title, with their best position being silver in 2003 season, back when they were named Tegola Titans. Their chances, however, rapidly improved with Červenka’s arrival.
