CB: Start of Padyšák’s season. Chlup and Zelenka with more homeruns

Past week marked the beginning of NCAA Division I season. Czechs have their own player in the mix, as Daniel Padyšák pitched in one of the games.

Charleston Southern University started the season against Florida, but they were unable to win any games. Daniel Padyšák played in the third game, while his team was 0-8 behind. Czech pitcher didn’t allow any runners in the inning he pitched, and he recorded a strikeout.

Division II North Greenville University, on the other hand, continues their winning streak after they beat Barton three times. NGU now won 10 games in a row. Marek Chlup was also on a roll. He had 4 hits in 3 games, 3 of which were homeruns. National team player has BA .591 after 8 games played.

Similar to NGU, Pitt Community with Martin Zelenka continues to roll through their opponents as well. Zelenka especially shone in the game against Camp Community College on Wednesday as he helped his team to 19-11 win, scoring 2 homeruns. A weekend later against Richard Bland, Zelenka played in two games, getting a hit in each. Pitt Community thus started the season with 7 wins.

On the other hand, Northeastern Junior College in Colorado, where Tomáš Říčný plays, had a much worse start. After losing 5 games Říčný’s team managed to win 5 following games. Czech player had his hands in the team’s first win, after he got 2 hits. A day later, against Dawson College, he added one more hit and a RBI. Říčný now holds BA .500 after 6 games and is the second best batter of his team.
