Czechs tied with Valencia in the second friendly
Czech national team played their second friendly against Valencia on Saturday. This time it wasn’t a blowout, as could be seen on Friday.
Pitchers dominated first four innings. Lukáš Ercoli and Lukáš Hlouch only allowed on hit. However, their teammates only managed to get one more hit in the offense and the score was tied at 0-0.
This changed in the fifth inning, when Spanish, thanks to four hits in a row, scored 2 runs and took the lead. They increased in an inning later when Jeffrey Barto stepped on the mound.
But Czechs were able to tied the game in the bottom of the sixth. It all started with a walk for Matěj Menšík, followed by double from Milan Prokop. Filip Smola improved on that with a triple, scoring in 2 runners. He then reached the home plate after a wild pitch. Smola finished the game as the best Czech batter with 2 H and 1 BB.
Czechs weren’t far from taking the lead in the seventh inning. But first, their opponent managed to tag Jakub Hajtmar at the third base. Afterwards, William Escala reached the second base, shortly after recording his first hit for the Czech national team, however, he was unable to score the 4th run.
The game finished in a 3-3 tie with one more game to come on Sunday.
