EXL: Eagles Praha signed Gehrig Octavio
Eagles Praha, who finished third in the previous Extraliga season, announced two signing. The first of them is José Balaguero we already wrote about. This time, they also confirmed inner fielder Gehrig Octavio.
Octavio played three years for North Greenville, where he played with Czech national team player Marek Chlup. Marek Chlup was also the one who helped with Octavio’s signing, confirmed Eagles head coach Vladimír Chlup for their social networks. „Gehrig is previous year’s NCAA D2 champions, fast-paced infielder with a good contact, who should bring stability to defense,“ said the head coach.
Octavio was one of the best batter in NGU in 2021, batting with BA .418 in 43 games. In three seasons for NGU he batted with .372/.489/.475. He mainly played second base in the defense, but he also got a chance in left and right infield.
