Czechs lost one place in WBSC Men’s ranking
World Baseball and Softball Confederation (WBSC) published new men’s baseball ranking after World Baseball Classic. Czechs lost one place and are currently 16th.
It was Italy who overtook Czechs, as they were able to get to quarter finals. Thanks to this Italians became the second best European baseball country. On the other hand, Czechs increased their lead to Germany and Spain. Unfortunately, the gap between Czechs and 12th place which would give them a spot in Premier 12. If they want to get in, they will have to be successful in European Championships on every level.
The first place didn’t change as Japan rules supreme. But there was plenty of movement behind them. Taiwan and South Korea dropped from Top 3 after an unsuccessful WBC. Instead, USA and Mexico took their place. Columbia also dropped 4 places and is currently outside Top 12, just slightly before Czech Republic.
We can demonstrate the importance of WBC on China, who lost all their games, but still got 242 points, which moved them 7 spots to number 23.
Slovakia kept its spot, remaining in number 34.
