Czechs played more friendly games on Saturday
Czech national team played more friendly games in Japanese Miyazaki on Saturday. For the first time, we could see Eric Sogard wearing Czech colors.
Czechs started well as they scored 4 runs, helped with 2 defensive errors. Martin Mužík‚s hit in the third inning then scored Martin Červenka and Matěj Menšík for Mužík to reach home plate moments later and score 7th run after a sacrificial out by Jakub Kubica.
In the sixth inning Czech loaded the bases, for Jakub Grepl‚s to clear them.
Bottom of the eight inning saw Czech defense lose focus and make 2 errors, which Miyazaki took advantage of and scored 2 runs.
Czechs played four pitchers. Lukáš Ercoli (3 IP) started the game, followed by Michal Kovala (1 IP), Filip Čapka (3 IP) and David Mergans (1 IP).
While Czechs were supposed to play two shortened games, based on iScore they only played one. Furthermore, play-by-play ended before the bottom of the ninth inning.
EDIT: A few hours after the article was written we saw boxscore update, based on which Czechs won 10-6. Furthermore, information from Twitter claim Czechs lost 7-3 to Miyazaki Sunshines.
