First League: Kotlářka Praha announced more moves
Kotlářka Praha won Extraliga title in 2015, but it was in a slow decline recently, until they were relegated to First League. This year it seems their fortune might be changing as we can see a lot of activity with their signings, as shown by two new players.
The first one is a return of a lost son, national team pitcher Jan Novák. His name has been mentioned on our sites several time as he was already connected with the move, which was now made official. Twenty nine year old pitcher played for Sokol Hluboká in past two seasons, however, he didn’t get much playtime. This was the case especially in the previous season, where he only threw 3 innings. A year prior Novák threw 72 innings with ERA 1.38 and 92 SO. Kotlářka sees his future in sharing the experience with young prospects. We will see whether we see him on the pitching mound.
Another familiar name is American Wesley Roemer. Thirty six year old player is known in Czech Republic, where he played 4 seasons in Extraliga, two for Draci and one for Arrows Ostrava and Sokol Hluboká. He threw 302.1 innings in Extraliga so far with ERA 1.88 and 318 SO. Roemer also showed his quality with the bat, as he currently has .268 BA and .359 OBP in 134 games. Roemer should be one of the best players in First League this season.
