CB: Zelenka and Řičný increased their homerun tally
College baseball continued over the weekend in USA, including several Czech players.
Daniel Padyšák played in one of the games for Charlestone Southern, namely in the last game against Campbell when he stepped on the mound in the eighth inning. He didn’t allow any batters on bases and added a strikeout. However, it was not a good series for CSU as they lost all three games against Campbell. Czech pitchers currently holds ERA 1.89 in 19IP.
North Greenville University played 4 games in the previous week, with Marek Chlup playing in all of them. With two wins and two loses, Chlup had 3 hits from 15 AB, he was walked twice and had 4 runs. He was doing well on base running, especially against Mount Olive, where he reached the base while score was 1-1 in the sixth inning. He then stole a base, which turned out to be instrumental to their win, as there were two wild unblocked pitches afterwards, where Chlup reached the home base getting the winning run. NGU won 3-1 in the end. He continued his momentum in other games, where he was walked as a leadoff hitter, then stole the second and third bases and then got a run. Unfortunately, this was the only run for NGU and Mount Olive won 4-1.
Martin Zelenka and Pitt Community College played three games against Richard Bland College. It was especially the first one that didn’t go well for Zelenka and his teammates, when they didn’t get any hits and lost 0-9. The next two games went better for Pitt as they took 2 wins. They batters earned 22 runs and the stats say Martin Zelenka was able to hit 2 HR, increasing his tally to 9HR on the season.
Tomáš Říčný also hit far for Northeastern Junior College, where he played 4 games. H had 4 hits from 9 AB helping his team to two wins. In the Sunday game against Luna Community College he earned his 4th HR.
Marcus Weinzimer played a game for Santa Barbara. He started the game against LA Prierce as a catcher, earning 2 hits, 2BB and 3RBI. This helped his team to a decisive 24-7 win.
