EXL: Boris Bokaj took shared 2nd spot in Extraliga strikeouts
Playing manager Boris Bokaj entered the game against Draci Brno for the last two innings on Saturday. He didn’t allow any runs and striked out batters. Thanks to this he moved to the second spot in historical table in number of strikeouts, tying with Leoš Kubát.
Bokaj entered the game with 929 strikeouts, missing 2 to catch up with Kubát. Ostrava pitcher lowered this deficit in the eighth inning, when he striked out Martin Červinka and stopped Brno offense.
He then ended another half the inning the same way. Martin Pernička opposed him for 6 pitches, but he then left the batting box with a strikeout. Bokaj thus moved to the second spot in historical strikeout table.
The first spot still belongs to Petr Minařík and Arrows pitcher still has a lot of catching up to do. Despite this, Bokaj holds the first spot among the active pitchers, with Tomáš Duffek being closest to him, nearing 900 SO himself.
