EXL: Hroši signed Matt Gilbertson before the start of TOP 6
Extraliga’s TOP 6 starts on Friday and last season’s runner-ups enter it with a new name on the roster. Hroši signed American pitcher Matt Gilbertson.
Twenty four year old pitcher played three seasons for Pittsburgh University, where he pitched 205.1 innings with ERA 3.73. He was then invited to MLB Draft League 2022, where he added 31.1 innings with ERA 5.46. He showed a good pitch location in both leagues, where he only had 1.6 BB/9.
“Naturally, we are glad that we managed to get such a good pitcher in the middle of the season. He has had a good career so far in good high school and university leagues. He throws a lot of strikes, he has a winning mentality but he’s also a good trainer, which is a great advantage for us. He has a lot to offer to our programe and to our young players. We are really looking forward to seeing him and what he has to offer to the club,” said Hroši pitching coach John Hussey for the club web.
Gilbertson was in California since September 2022, as a pitching coach for USK Baseball. Before that he was an assistant coach for Las Vegas baseball academy.
