EXL: Sokol won against Hroši to wrap up the regular season
The last game of 2023 Extraliga regular season was played on Sunday between Hroši Brno and Sokol Hluboká. And the game had to be decided in extra innings.
The game, which had to be interrupted due to rain, started at 2-2 in the 6th inning. The first runs of the day were scored in the 7th inning. First, visitors from southern Bohemia scored two runs after hits from Josef Kovanda and Camden Vasquez, for Hroši to respond with 3 in the following half inning.
David Jelínek then sent in Martin Mužík for a tying run in the 9th and we got to see extra baseball.
Hroši played two quick outs in the 10th, but Camden Vasquez’s hit scored in two runs, despite being tagged between the second and the first base. In the end, he didn’t need to worry about it as Hroši only scored one run on sacrificial hit from Tomáš Říčný.
Sokolo won 7-6 meaning both teams finished the regular season with the same record 12-9. We will now wait for TOP6 schedule to see when they play each other again.
