EXL: Tomáš Ondra didn’t walk anyone for 34 innings
Hroši Brno pitcher Tomáš Ondra has a fantastic streak going. He threw 5 innings against Arrows on Thursday without walking anyone. He currently has 34 innings thrown without a walk. As mentioned by Jiří Vlach from baseball-stat.cz, it is the best such streak in Extraliga since at least 2016.
Tomáš Ondra only walked one player this year. It happened in the first run, on 2nd of April against Daniel Mráz from Technika Brno. Since then Ondra faced 126 batters and neither of them left the batting box after 4 balls.
Brno’s pitcher took the first place in the statistic overtaking Ondřej Furko, who threw 28 innings without walking a batter in 2017. It is no surprise Ondra reigns in pWAR table this year.

If he doesn’t play in the remaining Hroši games, he will create a new Extraliga record. It is no surprise his performance caught an eye of national team manager Pavel Chadim, who nominated him to the next national team game. If he keeps this up, we might be able to see him at European Championship as well.
