Filip Čapka named Player of the Week by Baseball Jobs Overseas
Organization Baseball Jobs Overseas, which distributes work for baseball players all around the world, is a known name to a lot of baseball fans. Thanks to them we can see a lot of interesting players in Czech Extraliga. But there are also Czech players within the organization. One of them is Czech national team player Filip Čapka who plays in Dutch top league this year.
Former Draci Brno player is having a good season in Hoofdklasse so far and his team Twins Oosterhout is currently 4th in the league. Čapka played on Saturday against DSS/Kinheim and it was likely his best performance of the season as he didn’t allow any runs in 6 innings. Opposing batters only had 2 hits and 2 walks against him. Beside that he also striked out 6 batters. This performance brought him Baseball Jobs Overseas Player of the Week award.
Čapka helped his team to 2-0 win, earning his second win of the season. He threw 30 innings in Hoofdklasse so far, with ERA 2.10. He leads his team’s statistics in strikeouts, throwing 30 of them so far. Čapka’s peformance in Netherlands has to be a good sign for national team coaches.
