EXL: Draci won the second game against Hroši
Extraliga offered the last game before All-Star Game on Thursday. In the end we saw Draci Brno win.
Those who arrived to YD Arena saw a great pitching game. Home starter Juan Jaime threw 7 innings where he only allowed 2 hits and striked out 10 batters. Hroši could rely on Matthew Gilbertson, who made a quick work from Draci lineup first time around and home team had to wait till the 4th inning to get their first runner on base.
The final result was determined in the eighth inning, which started at 0-0. Draci sent Jhenderson Hurtado on the mound, who was yet to allow any runs scored in Extraliga. This changed, as Hurtado allowed the first three batters he faced on base. Hroši thus loaded the based with zero outs. After a defensive error, visitors scored their first run. Hurtado then found his control and he helped himself with two strikeouts. Matěj Menšík then send a ball flying and Hroši didn’t add more runs.
And Draci responded in the following half inning. Martin Pernička started with a hit and Hroši substituted Gilbertson with Luis Rengel. He played two quick outs, however, Arnošt Dubový then kickstarted Draci offense with a triple. Andres Angulo then batted in a run, with Martin Kalábek following with another. Home team took 3-1 lead.
Hurtado didn’t allow any runners on bases in the ninth inning and Draci thus won the second game in TOP 6 against their city rival.
