EXL: Eagles come from behind to beat Hroši. Tempo with a huge win

Two more games of TOP 6 were played on Sunday. And they brought two very different games.

Hroši Brno – Eagles Praha 3-4

Hroši had a chance to sweep Eagles on Sunday. And they started their bid well, when they were 3-0 ahead after 3 innings. However, this was all Albert Pražák allowed them. He was then substituted by Matyáš Trčka in the sixth inning, and he only allowed 2 hits in 4 innings.

Home team started a new man in their lineup, American Matthew Gilbertson. He kept his opponents scoreless for three innings, but Petr Zýma scored the first Eagles run then, for Jan Výbora‚s solo homerun to decrease Eagles lead to only one run. Ondřej Hrdlička then tied the game in the fifth.

The decisive moment came in the eighth inning. Hroši pitcher Matěj Netopilík walked two batters and so John Hussey came in for him. He was welcomed by a double from Gehrig Octavio, which meant Lukáš Derganz reached the home base. Hussey then finished the inning without a run allowed, and he didn’t allow any more hits.

Hroši got two runners on bases in the ninth inning with one out, but Eagles finished the game with a double play and won at least the last game against their opponent.

Tempo Praha – Sokol Hluboká 17-2 (F/6)

The game between Hluboká and Tempo was more straightforward. It didn’t go well for the visiting pitchers and home team wrapped up the game after six inning on mercy rule.

Home team only needed 12 hits to get 17 runs. Petr Vojta and Michal Malát walked 8 batters and Sokol defense added three errors. Ondřej Vank did much better, as he only allowed 2 runs in 5.1 innings, one of which came after a solo homerun from Matěj Dvořák.

Home team had Martin Zelenka who added a three run homerun in the second inning, increasing Tempo lead to 7-0. Marek Minařík also had solid offense when he finished with 3 hits from 3 AB.

With the win Tempo moved to the second place in TOP 6 and they are yet to play one more game against Hluboká on Monday. Sokol is still waiting for their first win and their hopes of moving to semifinals are slowly evaporating.
