EXL: Hluboká won their first series in TOP 6
There was only one game played in Extraliga on Sunday, but it were to decided the series winner between Eagles and Hluboká. In the end it were south Bohemians who celebrated their first series win in TOP 6.
Visitors from Hluboká started the game better, as they were 5-0 ahead after two innings. This was thanks to a three run homerun from Camden Vasquez. Hluboká also started American Alec Lemmon, who only allowed two runs in six innings and sent 9 batters from the batting box with a strikeout. Eagles got a piece of a game after the pitching substitution and they slowly started to decrease their opponent’s lead. However, every time they got close Hluboká was able to respond. Joseph Enea had a good game once again, hitting the third homerun of the series. Prague also had issues with defensive errors as they made five of them.
Eagles came three runs to tying the game in the last inning and they had bases loaded with two outs. Furthermore, David Bauer, who returned from USA, went to the batting box. But in the end it was Enea who came on top and Sokol won 9-6.
Hluboká improved their record to 2-6 and they still keep hopes of advancing to semifinals.
