EXL: Saturday triple for home teams. Eagles showcased no player

Extraliga’s TOP 6 continued with three more games on Saturday and all games were won by home teams.

Draci Brno – Třebíč Nuclears 2-0

Saturday game between Draci and Třebíč was a pitching duel. In the end it was home Jan Vašourek who got the win when he only allowed 2 hits and no runs in seven inning he threw. Ryan Johnson was also having a good game, as he too remained on the mound for seven innings as well. However, after hits from Angulo and Martin Kalábek Draci scored two runs against him. These turned out to be decisive as Jackson Solarte kepth Nuclears scoreless and earn his third Save.

Draci beat Třebíč for the second time in the series getting on a winning wave before the upcoming Champions Cup. They also solidified the first spot in TOP 6.

Hroši Brno – Eagles Praha 13-4

After losing at home Prague team travelled to Brno hoping to get one back. And it was looking promising in the first inning, after they scored 3 runs and sent Luis Rengel packing.

Vasko Kolev kept home batters in check for 2 innings, but Hroši tired the game in the third after Petr Čech and Lukáš Trunkát sent their teammates home.

Eagles took the lead in the fifth inning again, when Jan Výbora sent Šimon Blažek home. At that point Prague had a new man on the mound, as Panama Emmanuel Herrera pitched his first Extraliga game. However, he didn’t had a good premier as Hroši scored 10 runs against him (8 ER). This was enough to give home team a comfortable win.

Matěj Menšík, playing for the home team, had an active game, adding 3 hits and currently holding BA .500 in TOP 6. David Fiala also added 3 hits, despite playing in the 8th place in the lineup. With the win Hroši moved to the second place in TOP 6 standings. Eagles, on the other hand, dropped to fifth, which moved them away from the semifinals spot.

Tempo Praha – Sokol Hluboká 9-2

Hluboká still waited for their first TOP 6 win before Saturday and after a home game against Tempo they will have to wait for at least one more game. South Bohemians started the game well after Martin Mužík blasted a two run homerun in the first inning. However, Tempo starter Marek Minařík managed to respond with a solo homerun in the following half inning, which seemed to get him a bit more confidence. He remained on the mound for six innings and didn’t allow Sokol any more runs.

On the other hand Tempo didn’t have Martin Červenka in their lineup, but they slowly started to press in the offense. They were able to tie the game in the fourth inning, also thanks to a defensive error.

In the sixth inning, after Joseph Enea came in for Alec Lemmon, Tempo added five runs and basically decided the game. In the bottom of the seventh home team added two more runs. Štěpán Dupal didn’t allow any runs or hits to Sokol in the last three innings and Tempo added their first win of the series. It will now continue in Prague on Sunday.
