Martin Zelenka will continue his college career in NCAA Division I
After two years playing for Pitt Community College, Martin Zelenka changed his school and will continue in NCAA Division I, this time for UNC Wilmington, located in North Carolina. The player announced the move on his Instagram page.
Zelenka played NJCAA so far. The move will make for a change of pace for Tempo Praha player, as UNC Wilmington Seahawks play the topmost NCAA division. They also won their division for the first time in their history this year, both in the regular season and in the follow-up tournament. In the end they were only stopped by Coastal Carolina in the regional tournament.
Zelenka was one of the best players for Pitt Community. He played 33 games in 2021, finishing with BA .333 and OBP .458. He had to stop after only four games a year later, due to a knee injury, but he returned this year. And his comeback was excellent, as he batted .375 and also added 15 HR.
