EXL: Hroši with a convincing win. Tempo and Eagles raided away
Extraliga continued with 3 TOP6 games on Friday, with only the away teams winning.
The game between the bottom two teams was controlled by the previous year’s runner-ups. Hroši started to collect the runs from the very beginning and in the end finished with 19 of them. Jan Pospíšil was the best batter with 3 hits as he continues a good stretch of the games.
Lukáš Ercoli on Hroši mound only allowed one run, thanks to which it only took 5 innings for the game to end. Hroši improved the maximal number of runs scored this season by one, overtaking Eagles. Winning by 18 is also the biggest run difference of this year’s TOP 6.
Tempo outplayed Draci
Draci were ahead until the fifth inning, winning 3-1 and their starter Hurtado had another good game. However, Tempo has a lot of power in their offense this year, which they showed in the fifth inning. First, they loaded the bases for Martin Zelenka‘s double to clear them. A moment later Michal Zelenka batted in his brother and Prague was suddenly 5-3 ahead. Aleš Nepomucký added an important run in the ninth inning, while Tempo was 6-4 ahead. In the end, Prague team won 8-5 and moved to the first place in TOP 6.
Třebíč couldn’t finish the comeback
A good day for the visitors was wrapped up at Vysočina. Eagles Praha scored the first run in the first inning thanks to Petr Zýma. He was also a part of more Eagles runs that came in the third inning. First, Marek Chlup batted in Octavio, for Petr Zýma to do the same for him moments later. Zýma then reached the home base after a balk from Lukáš Hlouch.
Prague started Albert Pražák who had an excellent game, as the home team only got their first hit off of him in the fifth inning. Pražák was substituted in the sixth inning and Nuclears saw their chance for a comeback, as Miroslav Křivánek manufactured two runs. Eagles were able to respond with another run, when Šimon Blažek reached the home base in the seventh inning.
Nuclears weren’t far from tying the game. In the seventh inning they scored two runs, but Eagles defense was able to tag Dominik Doležal in the eighth inning before he reached the home base. Samuel Steigert didn’t allow the home team more and Eagles earned the first win in an important series.
