EXL: Tempo beat Hroši two times. Sokol managed the second game against Nuclears
Extraliga continued with four games on Saturday. And it was mostly the visitors who took the wins.
Tempo Praha played a doubleheader against Hroši Brno and it turned into two close games. Marek Minařík and Lukáš Ercoli only allowed one run each in seven innings. But the eighth saw Tempo show their teeth against Ercoli and force the substitution. However, it seemed it came too late, as Tempo managed to score 5 runs and won the first game 6-1. Martin Červenka also added his 10th homerun of the season.
The second game was even more interesting. We had to wait until the extra innings to get the winner. Even John Hussey on the mound couldn’t help Hroši, as Tempo opened the 10th inning with an RBI single from David Nevěřil. Ondřej Blažka then batted in another run. Brno scored one run after a hit from Michal Pokorný, but it wasn’t enough and they lost 4-5. After two losses, Hroši are back at the bottom of the table. On the other hand, Tempo keeps the second place, with eight wins from ten games.
Hluboká got a win back against Třebíč
Two good innings, where Sokol scored four runs in each, was enough for the visitors to get at least one win at Vysočina. Třebíč also made four defensive errors, and they continue to be at the very bottom of all TOP 6 teams in the given statistics. Nuclears tried to come back in the last two innings, where they were 2-8 behind, but in the end they were unable to emulate the Friday comeback and managed to score only five out of six points they needed.
Draci continue their winning ways
The beginning of the second game went better for Eagles, when Marek Chlup batted in the first run in the first inning. However, Brno pitchers Jan Vašourek and Jackson Solarte wouldn’t allow any more runs afterwards. Prague started with Ondřej Kvapil on the mound, who had to be substituted by Samle Steigert in the second inning. They both kept Draci scoreless for seven innings. However, Draci then put together a series of hits and managed to settle the score at final 4-1.
