U12 EC: Czechs entered the tournament with a decisive win against Lithuania
Czech national team played their first game at U12 European Championship on Wednesday, when they faced Lithuania. They were in control of the game and left with a decisive win.
Czechs started the game actively, and scored 10 runs in the first inning. The difference in quality of the two teams were obvious, and continued in the second inning, where Czechs added 15 runs. After the second inning, the majority of Czech team had 4 AB. Jakub Röschl ended with a hit in all of his at bats and also added 5 RBI.
There were three pitchers on Czech mound. Starter František Fišer threw an inning with one hit allowed. Afterwards, Kryštof Kotouček came in and Lithuania managed to score a run against him. The third inning belonged to Tadeáš Klimeš. Neither of the pitchers threw more than 20 pitches, which is a good news for the coaches, considering the tournament’s pitching limit.
Czechs won 25-1 after three innings and will continue on Thursday. They will face Austria, who lost 3-9 to Netherlands to start the tournament. Were Czechs to win, they would be certain to advance to the semifinals before the last game of the group stage against Dutch.
