U12 EC starts on Wednesday. Czechs will try to defend silver
Czech U12 team, which defends silver from previous year, will play their first game at European Championship at 15:30 on Wednesday.
If we were to look at the tournament where Czech national team had the most success, it would be U12 European Championship. Czech Republic is the most successful country in the history of the tournament, after all, taking 14 medals, 7 of which were gold. Their last gold came in 2015 from Poland. Since then, the team played in the final three times, but they still wait for another first place.
This year the championship is being played in Valenciennes, France, and Czech will play in Group B along with Lithuania, Austria, and Netherlands. To advance to the semifinals, they will need to finish at least the second. That’s why Czechs didn’t take chances in the preparation, and played 6 friendly games against Germans, and one with Little League Intermediate team, who already advanced to the main tournament in USA.
