EXL: Tempo Praha tied the series
The second game of Czech Series was played on Saturday. The series moved to Prague and once again the home team had an advantage, it would seem.
The second game started more aggressively in the offense, Draci took two run lead thanks to a homerun from Milan Prokop in the first inning. Tempo responded right away when Martin Červenka reached the home base after a defensive error.
Draci were able to add more runs against Ondřej Vank in the following innings and were 4-1 ahead after four innings. They also got two runners on bases with 2 outs in the fifth inning, which meant Tempo decided to substitute their starter and send in Jhonny Duran instead. He started with another walk, but then he striked out Arnošt Dubový and didn’t allow the visitors to add more runs.
And they could regret not scoring more. In the bottom half of the inning Tempo got two runners on bases with an out, which signaled a pitching change for Draci. Starter Jan Vašourek was substituted by David Mergans. The young pitcher was welcomed by a three run homerun from Marek Minařík and suddenly the home team was leading.
Tempo then loaded the bases in the sixth inning, but trace managed to get out of the inning thanks to a strikeout on Keibert Petit. Petit was aggravated by the decision so much, referee ejected him from the game. Similar situation happened an inning later, with Jan Nebenführ on the mound when Tempo loaded the bases again with two outs. Draci substituted their pitcher and sent in Jackson Solarte, who faced Šimon Drápela. Drápela’s successful hit increased Tempo lead to 7-4.
This score didn’t last long as Milan Prokop opened the eighth inning with his second homerun of the game. But Duran didn’t allow Draci to score more and in the end Tempo won 7-5.
Not only Tempo tied the series, this was also the first game ever in Czech Series they won. The tied series will move to Brno.
