Kotlářka Praha returns to Extraliga. Technika Brno will play in the First League
We now know the eight teams to play 2024 Extraliga. After a Saturday game between Kotlářka and Skokani, 2015 Extraliga champions booked their spot in the top league.
Kotlářka needed to win two out of five remaining games to ensure they will play in Extraliga. Prague team didn’t leave anything to a chance and won the first two they played. Furthermore, they only played 12 innings against Skokani, as they dominated both games. They won the first one 12-0 and the second one 24-2.
Prague team returns to Extraliga after two years, when they didn’t make the cut in 2021, where Extraliga changed from 10 to 8 teams. They had their best run between 2013 and 2016, where they always reached the finals and even won the league in 2015 for their first and only time. They are also historically the only Bohemian team to win the title. Interestingly, 4 players from 2015 team are now battling for Extraliga title for Tempo.
Technika, on the other hand, continues their oscillation between Extraliga and First League. Team that won Extraliga 3 times (since 1993) finished better than in the 7th spot in 2016. Since then Technika seems to have performance woes.
