U23 EC: European Championship started in Austria
U23 European Championship started in Austria on Tuesday. Czech national team will attempt to improve their previous standings, where they finished 5th in 2021.
Czechs will play in Group A, where they play Great Britain, Netherlands, and the home team. The first two teams will advance to the semifinals. The second group contains Belgium, France, Germany, and Italy.
We can find a number of players playing in Extraliga on the team. However, there were several players who couldn’t travel with the team due to an injury, as confirmed by Vladimír Chlup for ČBA web page. “Unfortunately we had to swap three starters from the roster for various reason, it is something the rest of the team will have to deal with, but I believe everyone is set to give their best and help the senior team with the ranking and towards the desired Premier 12.”

The final game is planned for Saturday 12th at 19:00. Czechs won the gold (2019), and silver (2017) in the competition before, and they are one of the most successful countries.
