After almost two years WBSC published a new Women’s Baseball ranking. The first top spots remain unchanged with Taiwan trailing Japan. Czech kept 20th spot, however, they took over Netherlands, becoming the second best European team.
The ranking was published shortly after group stages of World Cup finished. Europe was represented by France and so few would be surprised to discover that the team, which won both European Championships, is the best ranked European team at 14th place. After a successful championships, Czechs added 46 points to the ranking, but remained in the 20th place. This means they overtook Netherlands, who dropped by 10 places and is currently the third best European team. The newcomer from the old continent is the Great Britain, who are currently in the 25th place with 8 points.
There were five new countries added to the ranking since the previous ranking was released, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Great Britain. The first five places belong to the teams we get to see playing in the World Cup finals, complemented by Canada, who dropped by 5 spots.
