SaBaT youngsters threw a combined no-hitter
We had to wait till the middle of September for the first no-hitter of the year. But it came at Czech U18 championship thanks to Jan Fejt and Ondřej Šimůnek.
Team from Trója goes through the tournament in Třebíč without a loss and their pitching has a lot to do with it. The past two games against Kotlářka and Frýdek-Místek they only allowed one run. They improved the stats on Monday as they not only pitched a scoreless game against Tempo Praha, but they also didn’t allow any hits. This is largely due to Jan Fejt, who threw 6 innings, where he walked 6 batters, but also striked out 9. Ondřej Šimůnek then came to finish the game in the seventh inning. Šimůnek added one strikeout. Fejt was also active in the offense, where he had 2 out of 3 RBI in SaBaT’s 3-0 win.
The no-hitter is 19th in Czech history and the first one this season. It is also the third no-hitter in U18 history, and the first in SaBaT’s history.
