European Championship brought visitor record. It also caused interested in television
It’s only a few days after European Championship, hosted by the Czech Republic finished, but we already have numbers to sum up the interest in the tournament. And they certainly are positive.
Czech Baseball Association managed to lure a large numbers of fans to the stadium with 23 438 fans visiting the games throughout. According to ČBA information, this should be the largest number of fans watching European Championship in the history of the tournament. The quarterfinals game against the Great Britain was seen by 2365 fans, which is definitely a new record on the Czech baseball fields.
But it wasn’t only the baseball on the stadium that caught interest of the fans. Czech Television published on their social pages on Monday that baseball games were watched by 918 000 fans with the most watched being the game between the Great Britain and Czech Republic, watched by 324 000 fans.
Besides that, there was an interest at baseballeurope.tv platform. According to unofficial information over 1000 fans paid for the streams on this platform. European Championship in the Czech Republic set a bar quiet high for the following championships.
