Alex Derhak already flew to Japan
Coach of Hroši Brno, and assistant coach of Czech National team Alexander Derhak flown to Japan on Saturday as a part of the collaboration between Czech Baseball Association and Chiba Lotte Mariners. As we mentioned before, he should be a part of the Mariners spring training.
„I am really excited the be able to learn from Mariners, and to work with them during the spring training this year. Baseball and life have a lot in common, one of which is the effort to improve every day. This opportunity gives me a chance to grow not only as a baseball coach, but also as a human being, “ said forty three year old Derhak before the flight.
„We will organize a coaching internship in February for coaches from the Czech national team, aiming to offer an opportunity to deepen the understanding of Japanese baseball and return back to the Czech Republic, “ wrote Mariners in their news release.
Derhak will spent two weeks in Japan and should return on 15th of February. Pavel Chadim should come to Japan soon after, as he is one of the coaches for European team which will play a series in Japan. There should be four Czech baseball players traveling to Japan, too.
The collaboration between ČBA and Chiba Lotte Mariners is financially supported by Panasonic HCAV, who has a large factory in Plzeň.
