UK: The new edition of WBL starts in May. With three new teams
The new edition of Women’s Baseball League (WBL) starts on 24th of May. This year with eight teams, three of which are newcomers.
Besides now traditional teams, such as the winners of the first and the latest season Belles Baseball, 2022 champions Sheffield Bruins, or previous seasons finalists Telford 26ers, we will also see team London Mayhem and Leicester Diamonds. They will be joined by the SWWBL selection team Serpents, which was formed under the British WNT player Artie Herbert, as well as Norwich Iceni Queens, and the Manchester team formed only the previous year Jetts.
The first games will be played in Sheffield, where Belles Baseball, Leicester Diamonds, Sheffield Bruins, and Norwich Iceni Queens will face each other. The remainder of the games will be played in Manchester between London Mayhem, Manchester Jetts, SWWBL Serpents, and Telford 26ers.
The league will have one game day a month, as many of the players are also part of men’s leagues. The last game of the regular season is planned for 17th of August. Play-by-play should, the same as the previous year, be available on the official page.
